Danni is a predoctoral intern at the Brattleboro Retreat and a fourth-year doctoral candidate in clinical psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology, where she earned her master's degree and pursued child and family approaches in her coursework and practical experiences.
Originally from the small town of Locust, NC, Danni attended Queens University of Charlotte for her bachelor’s degree in psychology. During her undergraduate years, she gained experience in a large outpatient group practice setting and at a grief counseling organization.
Prior to joining the Retreat, Danni worked for several years in the intake department at a psychiatric facility in Melbourne, FL. More recently, she completed a practicum position at this same facility which involved serving its patients across the lifespan through individual and group therapy and psychological assessment. Her additional experience conducting couples therapy has informed her approach to patients from a systemic and holistic lens on their difficulties, and her devotion to the inpatient adolescent population has inspired her current work on Osgood 2. Danni enjoys working with diverse clients across a range of ages and presenting concerns, especially those living with severe and persistent mental illness.
While she aims to incorporate interventions from a variety of psychological theories (e.g., person-centered, CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic) depending on the unique needs of her clients, her relational and process-oriented approach can be described as authentic, vibrant, and warm.
