Ani Keshishian, M.S.

Doctoral Psychology Intern

Ani Keshishian, MS is a doctoral psychology intern at the Brattleboro Retreat and a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Louisville.

 Ani received her BA in Psychology from Boston University, and her MS in Clinical Psychology from the University of Louisville. Before pursuing her PhD, Ani worked as a clinical research coordinator at the Eating Disorder Clinical and Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and as a residential counselor at the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center. During her doctoral training, Ani worked as a therapist and received supervision at the University of Louisville’s Psychological Services Center and the Sleep Health Center in Louisville, KY. Ani has experience working with adolescents and adults with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, personality disorders, eating disorders, sleep disorders, and problems with addictive behaviors including substance use. 

Ani’s approach to therapy is interpersonal and integrative. She emphasizes developing a collaborative relationship with her clients and uses a range of empirically supported therapeutic techniques (e.g., ACT, CBT, DBT, exposure therapy, and motivational interviewing). She often emphasizes mindfulness to empower her clients to develop their self-awareness and self-regulation.
