Elizabeth Catlin joined the Retreat Board in February 2013, and currently serves as Vice Chair. She lives in Dummerston with her husband Jared Flynn and their two daughters. A graduate of Harvard and Duke Law School, she first came to Brattleboro to work for the Honorable James L. Oakes in 1995. After several years as a litigator in Washington, D.C., Elizabeth decided to make Vermont her permanent home, returning to Judge Oakes' chambers as a staff attorney. In 2005, she founded Bluestone Wealth Management in Keene and works there as an investment advisor.
Elizabeth currently serves on the boards of The Latchis Corporation and Girls on the Run Vermont. Previously, she was a Planning Commissioner in Dummerston for 10 years and was on the Windham Regional Commission Board, chairing the Regional Plan committee. Elizabeth also chaired the board of Green Mountain Camp for Girls. She thinks that Southeastern Vermont is a pretty wonderful place to live and feels lucky to be part of the strong community here.
"Brattleboro is fortunate to have this thriving institution as a vital part of its economy and social structure. The Retreat's history attests to its commitment to the best possible care for those with mental illness and addiction. At a time when the provision of healthcare is undergoing major evolution, it is exciting to anticipate the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. I am pleased to chair the Board as it works with energy and enthusiasm for the Retreat's continued excellence."
